Lanzarote (Thursday 15 February)

Our final island was the one that we have always loved most - Lanzarote. The ship docked slightly earlier than expected. We knew time was at a premium so we were first off. We could see the Cicar office from our balcony. Unfortunately it was closed and we had to walk to the alternative office. Alongside the fact that the staff were slow and unhelpful we were getting a bit irritated but eventually we were on our way.

First stop was Mirador del Rio where we encountered 2 issues. It didn't open for another hour and everywhere was closed in fog. However we drove along a little way and were able to get a fairly good view of La Graciosa.  We then drove to Jameos del Agua and thoroughly enjoyed the cave, looking for the blind white crabs etc.

Then on to Timanfaya only to find there was a 45 minute wait so we decided not to bother. However we were able to stop and see the camels

Then it was a quick drive through Playa Blanca and on to Matagorda and Puerto del Carmen where we had some lunch and a walk along the prom. We still think this is our favourite place for a sun holiday.

On our way back we drove along the sea front at Arrecife which was surprisingly attractive.

We were relieved to drop the car off and get on board before the sail away after a brilliant day.

Once again the photos seem to have uploaded in random order!
