Sea Day (Tuesday 13 February)

Today was a sea day, so not much to report.

We did have Aida Cosma looking to pass us on the port side, but it suddenly turned while alongside us and returned to Madeira.

We assumed there was perhaps some medical emergency on board, but tracking the ship, we could see that it did indeed dock in Madeira for around an hour and then set off again at high speed for Tenerife where it was due to disembark and embark passengers.

In the event it made it there.  Meanwhile we steamed on at a sedate pace for arrival at Gran Canaria.

At dinner we had a larger table as one of Elizabeth's former work colleagues and her husband were on board with a friend of theirs so we had a good old natter over dinner.

After dinner we went to the theatre for the final 'Headliners' show of this cruise - 'Electric Avenue', featuring songs from the 80s.  As usual it was a good show with excellent singing and choreography.

Being a sea day, we had lunch in the main restaurant and, as it was Shrove Tuesday, pancakes were on offer. There were nicely thin, like the 'Crepe Suzette' pancakes they used to serve on cruise ships (but don't any more!)
